Kintsugi

Ceramic repair

There is an interesting repair option and I have already used it several times - the method is called Kintsugi. This method originally comes from Japan.

I particularly like it because the ceramic parts are put back together with natural adhesive. It is made from a mixture of tree resin and rice flour. The assembled parts are then dried in a humidity cabinet. A cup or plate can be used normally again after drying. The glue seam is food safe.

If you are interested in repairing your cherished ceramics, you can show me this and we will discuss how to proceed. The repair costs are calculated according to the time spent (CHF 50,- per working hour inclusive material costs - in case of real gold powder plus 8,- CHF per centimeter).
